Teaching Netiquette is the social code of how teachers utilize the internet in education. Teaching is the instruction of students in the acquisition of knowledge. Good netiquette is taught by good teachers. The internet is used in education at all levels. Schools teach students how to use the internet. Therefore, teachers have their own netiquette for teaching good internet etiquette, netiquette. The netiquettes mirror traditional grades. Each teacher or Professor often supplement a schools Netiquette guidelines and curriculum with their own and teach it in their own way.

Elementary School kids use the internet and learn about it in varying ways and degrees. In elementary school it is important to show children how to use it at their education level. Age and grade appropriate material regardless of prior knowledge.

They should be taught about the educational possibilities by exposing them to new places and cultures. An introduction to search engines for educational purposes is appropriate. Respect for computers and others are concepts should be instilled in them. Finally, awareness of cyber bullying and privacy must be taught before they move on to Middle School.

In middle school students learn to be social in reality and should also be taught how to be social online. What to say and how to say it is important. Privacy, safety, and appropriateness of communication should all be taught and reinforced. How to create strong passwords and following the rules of websites are concepts that middle schoolers need to have before they move on to High School. Cyber bullying is common in Middle School because kids will be kids. Teach them how to identify, avoid, and report it.

In High School teens should be taught how to be good digital citizens. Good decision making is of paramount importance. The concept of an online identity and how to manage it comes into play. Cyber bullying is still an issue that needs to be addressed. Teach your students how to manage their passwords as well. Once young adults can manage their online identity, they are ready for the real world.

Teaching is the instruction of students in the acquisition of knowledge. Teachers are professional who have acquired knowledge of instruction and have experience. Once they are granted a degree and accredidation by the state they are official Teachers.
