It is proper Netiquette to use earphones for sound. Do keep headphones with it for audio.
In Hotspots it is customary to wear earphones when listening to media. There are exceptions. In some circumstances sharing media with friends is acceptable. Music and other media content is part of the Hotspot culture.
Use earphones for sound in public. If other people want to listen play the audio from the speakers. Earphones are a default setting. Sharing is a personal choice.
Use earphones at hotspots because conversations may be interrupted by audio.
