It is proper Netiquette to get permission to send messages during class. Don't email without authorization.
It is the teachers responsibility to make sure a student sends an email correctly for a variety of reasons. Students need email supervision because they represent the school, need to be protected, and could expose the school to a computer attack.
An email from school or a school account is official communication from a student to the recipient. It’s similar to sending a formal letter on school letterhead because the address of the device sending it is recorded if it is from school and the domain is included in the message if it is from an educational account. In addition, there are child safety and computer security reasons.
Computer security can be compromised by sending email messages to hackers. Responding to spam messages validates an email address to the spammer. Once an email address is validated it can be targeted for computer attacks.
Ask permission to use email in class because the teachers knows what is best for class learning.
