Unfriend Reasonably Social Network Netiquette Rules

It is proper Netiquette to unfriend or block followers with good reason. Don't unfriend people for no reason.


Explanation

It is reasonable to unfriend negative people and those that post offensive comments. It is unreasonable to unfriend someone because you don’t like their profile picture. Be reasonable when you unfriend associates.


Internet Etiquette

Unfriend users for good reasons rather than arbitrary endings. No one Likes to lose a friend and everyone wants closure when things come to an end. Unfriending a cyber friend can have real and cyber implications. Real feelings may get hurt if you unfriend someone, which can lead to a lot of negative things online and off. Good reasons for unfriending associates include lack of engagement online, no communication offline, and unwanted status updates. Social networking is not a popularity contest, it’s a component of a users digital self.

Keep contacts unless they hurt your image because it is better to make friends than enemies.
