It is good Netiquette to take notes or watch lectures multiple times. Do know what the teacher says.
Lectures are offered through online videos. Many provide the slides from the instructors video. Some provide transcripts of the lecture. Watching them multiple times is often aloud.
The video, slides, and transcripts of a given lecture can be saved by the student and viewed multiple times. They are study aids. Studying requires taking notes.
Notes transfer concepts and other learning material into words a student understands personally. They are the output of the intake of information. Comprehension of study aids.
Simply watching lectures and reading material does not usually give a student the required practice processing the concept. We don't internalize the information because we are not required to. Alternatively, watching videos multiple times is similar to taking notes. It reinforces the material.
Take notes from material because it helps internalize the lessons.
