LinkedIn is primarily used to look for jobs, share professional information, and connect with co-workers. Many companies advertise open positions on it and all of the fortune 500 companies are represented on it. It is definitely a corporate site for professionals.

You can ask and answer questions related to your profession in the question and answer section of the site. This is a good way to raise your professional profile. Ask a great question or provide a great answer to show you know your stuff. It's good netiquette.

Companies have their own groups for employees to share information and there are public groups as well. Polish your professional image and make the right connections with good recommedations and routine activity.

People with more than 20 connections are more likely to be approached for a job. The average household income of LinkedIn users is approximately $140,000 per year. It pays to use LinkedIn properly.

Fill out your profile, connect with industry professionals, and answer a few questions to put you in the running for a better job. Then all you have to do is apply. You can search for a new position right on the website.

It is proper netiquette to interact with your professional network. Depending on your personality and industry it could mean any where from 2 to 2,000 friends.

LinkedIn is the highest level of netiquette because your co-workers can vouch for you on a daily basis. It is often used to research backgrounds. Many big corporations have groups for their employees. There is minimal difference between a free and paid account, therefore, free will suffice for most.

LinkedIn is a social networking web site for business professionals. Your profile has all the elements of an effective resume, including references. It allows you to build your brand.

Since it is used to research backgrounds, by employers, it is a good rule of thumb not to put anything in your profile that is not on your resume. LinkedIn has become the place for business to business internet marketing because all of the Fortune 500 companies can be found on it. There has been a surge in membership since its recent IPO in May.

Nathan Newbie is shy and quiet at first, but he is always a hard worker. Always on time never late, team player, free with compliments. He is the man because he knows his place.
