Laptop Netiquette

Laptop Etiquette Rules

Netbooks are what Wi-Fi was meant to be. A device with 3G wireless communication built in. Many wireless carriers subsidize the cost with a two year service agreement. They can also connect to the wireless internet at hotspots as well.

Netbooks are for school and work on the go. A Netbook is great for school because it provides enough computing power to run the applications you need to do your homework and take notes and they fit nicely into a student's budget. For the applications that may require more computing power you can use the computer lab. Those applications are usually too expensive for a student anyway, so it prevents copyright infringements, which are rampant on college campuses.
These computers are great for work on the go because they have everything you need to get the job done and nothing else to distract you. Most have video conferencing capabilities. Since they have built in Wi-Fi connections connecting to cloud business applications or private business networks is seamless. There are some issues and accessories that can help you study a little better and work a little harder. For example, an external keyboard and mouse may help you take notes a little better or write that report a little faster.
Some issues to consider when purchasing a Netbook include battery life, the type of glare protection, and overall durability. Battery life is essential because it is a major bummer when you're keying away and the computer goes dead. I know from experience. Some have removable batteries you can switch out, while others have battery packs that attach to the existing battery.
Glare is an issue because Netbooks are designed for use in bright light as well as low light. There are anti-glare coatings for screen or screens with matte finishes to prevent glare. In addition durability can affect you're decision because your probably going to drop it a few times and drag it around. The type of drive and material used are things to look at for durability.
In conclusion, Netbooks are what most people need. The public has been tricked by marketing execs into thinking they need a laptop when a Netbook will do the job for a lot less.

Even though netbooks look cool, they have a purpose. They are not made for you to have fun, they are made for you to get things done. These computers are great for school and work, not for playing games. Sure you can do your social networking on them, but the graphic accelerators do not support high definition gaming. A Netbook is an ultra-portable laptop built for Wi-Fi that is smaller and less expensive than a traditional laptop. It does not have an optical drive. The screen sizes range from 5 to 12 inches. They are designed for use anywhere, day or night, indoors or out.
Everyone could use a little netiquette!
