  1. Do your home work as soon as possible (ASAP). Do not wait until the last minute. Something will go wrong.

  2. Participate in online discussions to help others learn and reinforce what you already know.

  3. Be friendly with your classmates. Do not flame or post potentially offensive comments.

  4. Stay on topic. Do not digitally disrupt things by changing the subject becuase it makes it harder to find the anwers you need in the online discussions.

  5. Cite credible sources when making your point in an online discussion. Use websites that have good reputations for the information they provide.

  6. Do not plagiarize quotes or ideas. Give credit where credit is due. Many schools use software to determine if assignments are plagerized.

  7. Use emoticons to show your tone. This prevents misunderstandings by sending clear messages regarding the tone.

  8. The internet is a public domain, even though you may be a private network nothing is truly private. Information is encrypted, but it's still public.

  9. Share your knowledge because that is how you gain crediblity and earn friends in your classes.

  10. Education is not designed to judge the actions of another, it is to learn from them. Disagreement in education is good netiquette as long as it's reasonable.

If your doing research for an English paper or participating in an online class it's all online learning. Many people use the internet for online learning purposes and some classes require it. Online learning is good netiquette.

Online Class, e-course, internet etiquette is the social code of taking courses on the internet. Online classes are new to a lot of people because many institutions are adopting them to cut costs and reach more students. Since they are new following proper internet etiquette when you are taking them gives you a great advantage.

Completing a course online is more work than taking a class at a physical location for the teacher and student. It takes longer to correct the work done because there is more work submitted and it takes longer to study because there are more assignments that have to be turned in.

Doing your homework is extremely important in online classes because you do not have the benefit of being in the moment with your classmates to learn collectively. Therefore, you have to do all the learning yourself and help each other later.

Beware, anything that can go wrong will, so start your homework early and be prepared for everything. Make a backup plan if the internet goes down. Backup your data so that your homework is not lost if your computer crashes. Submit your homework early in case something goes wrong.

Asking and answering questions on class discussion boards is the best way to interact with classmates socially and takes some pressure off the professor. School is social and education is how society is ordered. Since there is no face to face interaction in an online environment social interaction can be done on discussion boards.

Online classes are taught for everything. The common techniques of posting messages, collaborating on homework, and taking tests are the rules of online class netiquette. Each class has different netiquette because each class has a different social make up and netiquette is social.

Online classes have many benefits and one big drawback, there is more work involved. The benefits of online learning are tremendous. Taking an online course allows you to study when you have time, which facilitates a busy life style. You can study at your own pace. If you want to move ahead of the class you can without impacting your classmates.
