It is proper Netiquette to ask for clarification before you take action. Don't do something if your not sure.
The internet makes it easy to miscommunication with misspelling or other misunderstandings because we do not have the benefit of direct contact most of the time. Direct contact is the best way to clarify questions about electronic communication because it eliminates the digital disconnect.
Synchronous communication can clarify ambiguous messages. Synchronous communication will suffice if direct contact is not possible to decipher an electronic message. Synchronous communication includes methods of communication like the telephone, instant messaging, or video chat.
Ask for clarification before you act because once something is done wrong it may be hard to fix.
