Moderate Blog Netiquette Rules

It is proper Netiquette moderate comments. Do delete negative remarks.


Moderation has a lot of meaning. First, it means average. Extremes are not moderate. Averages reduce the impact of extremes mathematically. This applies socially as well. To moderate is to preside over a discussion. Blog threads are discussions. Moderate means to preside over them.

Negative comments can hurt your online image. Positive comments may help it. Reading comments prior to posting them is moderation. Moderation is a blog account setting. Use the Account Setting to turn on comment moderation.

Internet Etiquette

Using the moderation feature for a Social Media account is good Netiquette. Moderation controls what users can write about account owners, themselves, or anything they may be promoting. People have an agenda and it is an internet users responsibility to read and approve comments that appear on their profile in an internet domain.

Account owners are the owners of their own accounts, which means they approve of material posted in principle, even if it is not a fact.


Moderate comments because they can change the content and context of a post.
